The breakfasts at the Wensleydale Heifer have received a prestigious honour.

We have long been noted for our hearty and delicious breakfasts and the quality of this most important of the day has been recognised by the AA.

The AA praised the hotel’s use of high quality ingredients and described the breakfast served as: “a very special, high quality breakfast with an emphasis on freshly prepared, local ingredients”.

Owner and Head Chef at hotel, David Moss, said: “We pride ourselves on the quality of our breakfasts – our Full Yorkshire is a great favourite of our guests and features a range of local ingredients including sausages from Kirby Malzeard and eggs from Wensleydale. There’s also vegetarian options, Krissy’s famous home-made granola and hand-finished yogurt and seasonal fruit compotes – all washed down with freshly-squeezed orange juice.

“There’s also great fish options, as you would expect from us, including kippers which we brine and smoke in our own smokehouse as well as smoked haddock, which we also smoke ourselves.

“We’re delighted that the AA has recognised our breakfasts for their quality – we’ve received this award many times, but it’s always a fantastic achievement for the team. We know it’s a really important part of their stay for our guests and its something we’re always determined to get exactly right for them.”

It’s not just hotel guests who can enjoy the breakfasts as the Wensleydale Heifer is open for breakfast for non-residents too – anyone not staying at the hotel can book a table for breakfast seven-days-a-week.

The award is the latest in a string of accolades the hotel has received from the AA. It was previously named as the AA’s Funky B&B of the Year and the restaurant holds a one Rosette rating. The AA also rate the Heifer as a Five-Star Restaurant with Rooms.
